Our pure wool mattress pads are simple and easy to use. The felted 100% wool pad holds itself together and has enough grip on it to prevent it from sliding around on your bed. No extra cotton fabric and elastics need. Just pure wool, working it's wonders. 

Simply place the pad on your mattress and add your favourite all natural sheets on top. Place the fluffier side down towards the mattress and the firmer patterned side up. If you are worried about spills or accidents (kids or pets) add a mattress protector sheet on top of the pad too.

Wool is a sustainable material with natural properties scientifically proven to support your overall health, regulating your body temperature and wicking away moisture. Anti-microbial and anti-bacterial properties inhibit the growth of bacteria, mould and mildew. Care Instructions:

Caring for a wool mattress pad is easy. Always use quality bedding and sheets to cover and help protect the wool mattress pad. Wool is self cleaning, naturally resisting odours, bacteria and allergens. You don't need to wash your mattress pad unless it gets heavily soiled or spilt on. Avoid washing your mattress unless absolutely necessary and try doing a gentle spot wash on any soiled areas first (gently soak the area in a sink like described below).

Regular care: Every few months air out your wool mattress in the sunshine or fresh air. While washing the rest of your bedding is a good time. Some of the natural oils from the sheep remain in the wool after processing, you may notice a gentle scent. We love adding a few drops of essential oils for some added freshness at this time if desired.

Deep cleaning: Fill a large sink or bathtub with lukewarm water adding a small amount of wool specific detergent like Eucalan (available here). Fold your mattress pad together with the softer/ fluffier side inwards, this allows for easier maneuvering. Gently press your mattress pad into the water to submerge. Allow it to soak for 10-15 minutes. Repeat a gentle pressing and squashing motion up and down in the water. Ensure you never agitate wool, this will cause the wool to felt or come apart! Please note that the one side of the mattress pad has some looser and fluffier wool on it, be very gently and keep the pad folded to keep this all together. Repeat as needed until the water runs clear. Wool holds an amazing amount of water. Let as much drain off on it's own and try not the lift as this may pull apart the pad. Gently fold together and squeeze out as much water as possible. Use a bowl or tub, to avoid dripping, and move to an outdoor area or in an area where the floor is ok to get wet. Carefully hang and allow to air dry.

Please ensure you follow these instructions as carefully as possible, it is important to always use only lukewarm water and be gentle and never agitate or rub the wool. This will always cause the wool to felt and become clumpy or break away.
